Tapping into the creative genius of remix virtuoso Ryan Riback, 15grams presents a great second remix of “Love Myself.” Ryan Riback's remix comes on the heels of Tazi's electrifying, dancefloor-ready performance. The opening composition serves as an invitation to 15grams' unique soundscape, marked by a lively beat and engrossing groove, underlining the Australian artist's distinguished presence in the dance music realm and beyond. Ryan's adaptation, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere, introduces an irresistibly intoxicating energy that invites listeners to get lost in the rhythm. “Love Myself (Ryan Riback Remix)” is available now via Warner Music.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing him and this has been the result.
Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from/how did you get into music?
I’ve been DJing for over 10 years and producing for about half of that time. I
learned how to mix on vinyl after being interested in music for most of my teens, then moved onto CDJs soon after and played house parties, then moving onto clubs soon after turning 18. I have always been involved with music, playing the trumpet since I was about 5 and the bass guitar in my teens. Music production was a natural progression for me as my DJing career has progressed.
How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres do you like to mix at the moment?
I have been making a lot of vocal records, really focusing on the songwriting side
of things, but will also be bringing out some harder club tunes in the new year, which I am super excited about. I love playing tech house and Brazilian bass with a hint of techno to keep it driving!
How do you feel your music influences or impacts your listeners?
I get a lot of messages from songs that I have released that have helped people through tough times in their life through the lyrics and plenty I know love to rave to them through the night.
What projects are you working on right now? What can you tell us about your latest work?
The first track on my triple record deal with Warner Music I just finished one of my
favourite tracks ever “Love Myself” with 2 amazing remixes that just came out. My next track coming out in January I’m also SUPER excited about!
Where are you and what have you been doing now?
I am currently in Las Vegas which I am making the move to and plan to continue my music career here in the USA.
Has that sound changed much in recent years? What is your musical criteria?
Sound has changed plenty; everything is very fast-paced right now, with melodic techno and hyper techno making a big splash at the moment. For me, as long as it’s got a driving bassline and isn’t too mainstream, I’m all about it. I play a range from tech house to Brazilian bass and faster techno.
Do you feel confident now to play a more experimental sound?
I have always loved experimenting with different sounds and music!
We all know that the digital revolution has affected sales, but has it affected creativity?
It has definitely flooded the market, so I'm not sure if it has affected creativity, but
there's definitely a lot more of the same out there, and AI is going to be very interesting in how it affects the industry.
Can you tell us what your current and future projects are?
My current track Love Myself is out now and my next release on Warner Music is my favourite track I have ever made, so look out for that in January :)
