REVIEW: Danny Goliger presents ‘Sustain’ EP [DIRTYBIRD’s White Label Series]

Los Angeles producer and multi-instrumentalist Danny Goliger hits Dirtybird's White Label with the release of his new EP, "Sustain."

Following recent releases of Nikki Nair's "More Is Different" to Ivy Lab's "Press Play" EP, Dirtybird White Label's # 4 series continues to release an eclectic range of genres. Following his first release with Dirtybird, a remix of Ardlan's Justin Jay album, "Sustain" marks Danny's first solo release within the label ecosystem. The 'Sustain' EP weaves a tapestry of sound and emotion through four pieces of unique and left field electronics, bringing a whole new vibe to White Label's unique series.

On "Sustain", Danny opens the 4-track EP with the melancholic song "Deliverance", and then picks it up with the shocking "Inchoate." An avid collector and builder of synths and drum machines, we see Danny's unique production shine through on "Venality." Completing the EP is the final track "Fog" with Michael Fam, with a deep and irresistible bass line. In his own words, the EP is a creation of “something beautiful where people can still hear the influence of breakbeat and idm,” says Danny.

Danny Goliger creates music that works in all settings and transcends genres. His openness de él to a wide range of sounds is what has made him a beloved favorite, but also someone who operates in his own parallel musical world. Danny Goliger unmatched style continues to expand with each release.

"Sustain" leaves nothing behind and confirms the mission that electronic music has always had: to play with the present and advance into the unknown, beyond entertainment. The result is a work as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.

The release of his new EP, "Sustain", further showcases Danny Goliger's analog synthesizer skills and will be available on November 12 through Dirtybird's White Label series.
