The Catalan duo, formed by Alberto O. Aguado and Adrián Cancho, after the success of 'Balance EP' in 2020 that put them in the spotlight of the best national electronic music, returns to the stage with an EP in which they return to turn all your good taste lo-fistico - or is it low-fine? - ranging from house, IDM, and techno, and all with obvious bassy, acid, and rave preferences. And they do it through a new song called 'Overthink' that, in addition, is spiced with two extraordinary remixes of the hands and machines of producers Otik and Lawrence Hart.
Marking a pivotal moment in the project, Sumluv presents' Overthink and solidifies its place within the dance music arena. The result is an album as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.
A whole lesson, a way of understanding not only music, but culture, beyond the precariousness that currently prevails, as something expendable, as if music, books or art did not save us. Forget for a moment about this magmatic present, close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by each of the notes that Sumluv proposes to you.
