INTERVIEW: Co-Accused

Actualizado: 21 may 2021

Producing DJs and Co-Accused are longtime residents of the legendary underground club Club 69, and now they bring us a set to announce their new album: "Psychonaut Society", on their techno and electro label, Co-Accused Records. The album comes with a remix of the great Jensen Interceptor.

We have had the pleasure of talking with them about their latest work and future projects.

Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music?

We're both from Paisley and going to Club 69 introduced us to music we had never heard before. We instantly fell in love with electro & techno. Hearing the residents Martin & Wilba and guests like Slam inspired us to start our own parties and produce our own music

I feel like the underground scene will continue to persist. Do you think we can go back to "normal" events and festivals?

Yeah, definitely. Hopefully by the summer its safe to reopen festivals with clubs not too far behind.

How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres do you enjoy mixing right now? Our sound has a spacey, futuristic feel to it. Electro & Techno is our thing. Artists like Anthony Rother, Sync 24, Minimum Syndicate, Jensen Interceptor, Slam, Dave Clarke and FJAAK

How do you feel that your music influences or impacts your listeners?

In a positive way. People that have been coming to hear us play in Club 69 over the years are now out doing their thing making music n promoting events. The underground scene in Scotland is thriving the now, it's great to see and be part of :)

What projects are you working on right now?

Working on a dark, electro banger for a label we really love and respect

What have you wanted to express with "Psychonuat Society"?

With this being our first release, it was important to get the Co-Accused sound out there. We love both genres and wanted to express that. If you come to see us play, we mix it up between electro & techno.

What piss you off?

The Tory Government

What makes you happy?

Seeing a dance floor go crazy to music we have created. It's one of the best feelings in the world.

Do you have any final words of wisdom?

Stay true to your own sound. Don't take any shit, don't play any shit!
