We have the pleasure of interviewing the independent Melodic Techno label: Esoteric Records, founded by Soul Alchemist and Rafa Lutz, later joined by Murilo Fco and Obscure Sense. This has been the result. Enjoy it!
Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? The label was born from the project Tiosam Music, which was a podcast series in California, USA. After a year there, we moved back to Brazil where we are now located. As a record label, we have been featured in the best electronic music magazines in Brazil and plan to go international now with our PR work.
How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres do you enjoy mixing right now? Our sound started as something more dark, introspective and now we are introducing more progressive and emotional sounds to the label. Artists that have been featured so far include Obscure Sense, Soul Alchemist, Rafa Lutz, and Murilo Fco. Our next release counts with Beatport 2019 Challenge, Mila Journee which is a big honor for us.
How do you feel your music influences or impacts your listeners? Not only does our music influence our listener acoustically but philosophically as well. Every release carries an esoteric content behind and we plan to provide this occult knowledge to the masses.
What projects are you working on right now? What can you tell us about your last job? We are currently working on Mila’s release now and following that we have a great VA with artists like EKDK, Main Leaf, Th May, Antonela Giampietro, Kobbaia, among other great producers..
Where are you and what have you been doing now?
We are currently in Brazil working as much as possible in our releases and podcast.
We all know that the digital revolution has affected sales, but has it affected creativity? I believe it has in a way because the more people become focused on their digital electronics, the more they forget to take care of themselves and the importance of being outside, close to nature and enjoying a beautiful day outside. All of these things mentioned previously are key points to boost your creativity.
Can you tell us what your present and future projects are? Our presente projects include Mila’s EP which will be available on the 9th of September as a pre-order and the VA which will probably be out by mid November. Following that we will have to keep it a surprise but one thing that I can tell is that the next EP release will count with a massive artist from a HUGE label so Stay tuned for what is to come!
