INTERVIEW: Gemil

Chromatic Mag interview today is with Gemil, we find out what makes him tick, what he is up to and more.

Can you tell us a little about your experience and your background in the music business?

I always produced electronic music since the 90's playing live jams with all the roland maschines but it was in the 2010 that I started producing constantly with the idea of making vinyls.

Now after some request I want to start djing.

Where are you from? do you feel that has a big impact on your sound?

I'm half English and half Italian and both nations gave me a great musical culture ! All the Uk electronic music scene and all the Italian House parties of the 90s gave me unforgettable moments.

What artists and genres do you enjoy most right now?

I always like all the house stuff inspired by the 90's but I also appreciate all the electronic stuff coming out from my distributor One Eye Witness

What is the story behind your new release? how did it come together?

I like to show two aspect of my musical production separating them well because in my head they are two different genres.

What I do on DEEP DOWN & SLAM is house music inspired by the 90s deep house and instead what I produce like Gemil on DEEP DOWN & SPACE is more deep techno stuff.

Has your sound changed a lot in recent years?

No at the moment but with the new studio It will

Do you feel you can have a more experimental sound in the modern scene?

I can't define myself a real experimental artist but I try in every project to add something new

We all know that the digital revolution has affected sales, but has it affected creativity?

I really don't know but if you want to find the sound you like most you will find also on digital

Can you tell us what's next for you?

The next release on DEEP DOWN & SLAM will be GEMIL & LCS house ep ,I'm also searching new artists for the label but it's not easy to find out some real good stuff for me (only for me) !!!
