INTERVIEW: JOE VENTURA

Actualizado: 28 jun 2021

JOE VENTURA creates music that works in all environments and transcends genres. His openness of him to a wide range of sounds is what has made him a widely loved favorite, but also someone who operates in his own parallel musical world. We had a chance to talk to him, so enjoy your reading and check out her latest releases from her from him.

Where are you from & how did you get into music?

Originally from Waterbury, Connecticut, USA My love for music goes way back to when I was 5.

How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres do you enjoy mixing right now?

The sound is evolving by constantly trying to keep the sound fresh but the premise old skool. The artists I'm "watching" is Angelo Ferreri, Joeski, Supernova and Miane.

How do you feel your music influences or impacts your listeners?

I hope that the music influences veteran producers to not forget where they and the music came from. I hope it impacts listeners in a positive way and help them experience the days of old when it all started.

What projects are you working on right now?

We have 2 vocal tracks featuring the great Sulene Fleming. The 1st is a song she wrote called "Shame". We have really high hopes and expect it to be a landmark song for the BIG Speaker Music label. the second is a cover of Taylor Dayne's "I'll Wait" This track will be a very long track which will include a Pt. 1 and Pt. 2. Pt. 2 will be dub in David Morales Red Zone fashion.

Has that sound changed a lot in recent years? What is your musical criteria?

My sound is 90's house at the moment. I believe there is still a lot of material in this style to be made.

Do you feel safe now to play a more experimental sound?

Sure. We all know that the digital revolution has affected sales, but has it affected creativity? It has affected sales negatively. Too easy to get plug ins, DAW and so on and be a producer. Yes, it has also affected creativity... can we get another disco loop track please? NOT!

What can you tell us about your latest work?

What did you want to convey?

Once again, it's all about the old skool and remembering where you came from. Helping people that don't know, to KNOW!
