REVIEW: Giants In The Trees - It Goes Remixes (incl. Michael Greig & Whitehead Remixes)

Bulletdodge Records releases remixes of Michael Greig and Gareth Whitehead's "It Goes" in July by Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselić's band Giants in the Trees.

Giants in the Trees is a Northwestern band from rural Wahkiakum County with definite connections to Seattle music. The band was formed by former Nirvana bassist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Krist Novoselić (who plays bass and accordion), Jillian Raye (Vocal, Bass and Banjo), Erik Friend (Percussion) and Ray Prestegard (Guitars). Bulletdodge founder Gareth Whitehead, who founded the label in 2007, has a wealth of experience in the electronic music scene and teams up with label signatory Michael Greig to release two stunning remixes of the original.

The pair previously worked on a track titled "About Time" as part of the collaborative album project The Brood and it was subsequently remixed by 808 State. The "Transitional Remix" is a resonant low cut that adds hypnotic pads and crunchy effects on top of glistening vocals, while the "Distillation Remix" focuses on cosmic energy and wave-inspired atmospheres. Giant In The Trees 'It Goes Remix' is out now.

The work is presented as a romantic ode to eclecticism, which is based on strange and elusive terrain, but it is there that this singular producer achieves his ultimate goal: sound new without being it, sound old without looking like it, alternating each genre. with mastery and exit the labyrinth knowing that, either forward or backward, the journey has been worth it.

Few producers know how to play his cards as well as he does, scoring a work that questions the rules of the genre, building a timeless set, to which we will go over time trying to decipher that magical and complex mechanism that achieves transcends all expectations .

Altogether, this work is so intense and addictive, that it seizes oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that this album is a testimony to a present that seeks energy and positivity anywhere.
