REVIEW: KVRVBO - Le Fleur [Iron Rods Music]

Hailing from Duduza, east of Johannesburg, KVRVBO or Karabo Moloi is a full-time creative, working as a graphic designer and art director for an advertising and branding agency, DJ and producer. The success of his early work led to recognition on one of South Africa's leading radio stations and the release of his first official track under Stay True Sounds.

On his journey to becoming one of the best in the game, he has appeared on a few compilations, an article on Red Bull, Pinnacle Pop, and collaborated with the likes of Kid Fonque, Intr0beatz (Iceland), DR.1MORE, Billowjazz, Jazzuelle, Rephlex, Zito Mowa, Radic Da Myth, Messive Musik, Jus Tadi (Austria), SMBD and more.

He also released music under renowned labels such as Stay True Sounds, Ambious Records, Closer to Truth (UK), Garden Groove, Just Move Records, and Rogue Decibels.

Marking a pivotal moment in the project, KVRVBO solidifies its place within the dance music arena. The result is an EP: Le Fleur, as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.

A whole lesson, a way of understanding not only music, but culture, beyond the precariousness that currently prevails, as something expendable, as if music, books or art did not save us. Forget for a moment about this magmatic present, close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by each of the notes that KVRVBO proposes to you.
