REVIEW: NORB presents Reporting [Motoring Records]

3 Coventry local producers all at different stages of their careers come together for a tasteful exploration into stripped back deep house. This ones got a bit of everything from the afternoon lounge bar, to the club and on to the afters. Expect glistening keys, acid stabs, atmospheric dubs and hints of vintage UK deep house.

Marking a pivotal moment in the project, Norb presents Reporting and solidifies its place within the dance music arena. The result is an album as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.

A whole lesson, a way of understanding not only music, but culture, beyond the precariousness that currently prevails, as something expendable, as if music, books or art did not save us. Forget for a moment about this magmatic present, close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by each of the notes that Norb proposes to you.
