On their first release for the 6 Plusten Records label, Quizzik produced a response to these dark times, especially in Brazil. "Dodging Bullets 101" is the continuation of a remix that Quizzik made for the Brazilian experimental artist ^ L_ on a release through the Berlin label ANTIME. The single was composed in a crescendo mode that evolves through different aesthetic and humorous scenarios, constantly changing as it builds, as a metaphor for ourselves going through the randomness of life. The song, ironically named as a rulebook on how to deal with the challenges and daily struggles we encounter, evokes that while from time to time we have an idea on how to tackle new problems, most of the time we are clueless.
Quizzik creates music that works in all settings and transcends genres. His openness to a wide range of sounds is what has made him a beloved favorite, but also someone who operates in his own parallel musical world. Quizzik's unmatched style continues to expand with each release.
"Dodging Bullets 101" leaves nothing behind and confirms the mission that electronic music has always had: to play with the present and advance into the unknown, beyond entertainment. The result is a work as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.
