REVIEW: Refolded: Waving At Airplanes Remixes [Neutral Music]

"Refolded: Waving At Airplanes Remixes" is the sixth full-length album from composer and electronic producer Will Thoma's collaborative project Dive Index, offering a darker, more atmospheric sound.

Available now on Neutral Music with remixes from Mercury award-winning producer Mike Lindsay and Plumbline, and new versions of the originals, this is a brilliant, exhilarating, and addictive LP to listen to. This "Refolded: Waving At Airplanes Remixes" features a collection of reinterpretations and remixes of songs from the Dive Index album - 'Waving At Airplanes'. With remixes from artists like Mike Lindsay / Tunng and Plumbline. And with the voices of Natalie Walker and Merz. Each of them brings unique perspectives in exploring the edges of techno. The result is a sonic journey that diffuses into very different compositions from the minds of individual artists.

The cinematographic sounds, deep and forceful, make us go beyond the limits of the musical and metaphysical genres, taking us to a unique place.

All these themes come together, as a philosophical essay, until they combine an album as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like a sweet poison, while transporting us progressively and boisterously, like few producers. with determined fluency they are willing to do, condensing two ideas that it seemed that we were no longer going to recover: future and permanence.

Each remix resonates from the depths, and manages to enter a unique and very personal sonic cosmos, covering a wide range of sonic textures that will make our speakers roar.

We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that this album is a testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever.
