REVIEW: Rework presents Take Me Out [Exlove Rec]

Rework returns and does so with the LP: 'Real Love' released by Exlove Records. The label's musical universe includes indie, electro, synthpop, post-punk and more from Rework side projects like Pola Woman, Sceti, Sugartin and Ella She Lies.

Rework are Michael Kuebler, Daniel Varga and Elmar Mellert, who often work alongside a series of vocalists. They have presented modern club classics at the Frankfurt-based Playhouse institution and do what they call "house new wave" combined with icy minimalist structures and catchy euro-girl vocals. In 'Real Love' he returns to the fray and turns it into an album full of energy, and that results in serious work, with attention to detail, that lends itself to beginning it and not returning to reality until it is finished: in this work the headphones are like the oxygen cylinder that allows you to dive to the bottom of this great sonic rotation, this cosmic orbit, and be there in a state of hypnotic fascination.

In this world where speed is desperately sought and attention deficit is so high, such an album will be misunderstood among many people, even dismissed as really important. This is a great advance for future disco and house adventurers. But you just have to be patient and want to stop, breathe, sink into it, hold on there as long as you can and admire its interior.
