Hailed as one of the most exciting new labels to emerge on the American Techno Circuit upon its launch in January 2021, the Los Angeles-based label There Is A Light is gearing up to celebrate its fifth major EP of the year as it offers A warm welcome to iconic Milanese producer Stiv Hey on his long-awaited record label debut.
Marking a pivotal moment in the project, Stiv Hey solidifies its place within the dance music arena. The result is an this work: "FLAVOURS", as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.
A whole lesson, a way of understanding not only music, but culture, beyond the precariousness that currently prevails, as something expendable, as if music, books or art did not save us. Forget for a moment about this magmatic present, close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by each of the notes that Stiv Hey proposes to you.
