Ibiza's Homies mark solstice with tour to celebrate 10th Anniversary album

Homies bring you Homies Vol. 3, the third instalment of their compilation trilogy celebrating 10 years of Homies. Available from 30th June this fantastic collection of Balearic bliss will show you what it is to be a Homie too. Curated by Luca Averna, this collection hits differently than what you would hear in most clubs, and for a very good reason. The producers here are all champions of the Balearic sound and part of the warmth of the true Ibiza community of music lovers.

When Christian Len and Camilo Miranda started Homies 10 years ago, Christian was a resident DJ at a beach bar in Ibiza and Camilo was waiting tables. Christian, like many others, has grown tired of the same dynamics at clubs, hundreds of people staring at a dot on the horizon.

House parties are where the real fun happens, where friends bring their own music, where you get lost in the corners, where you meet random people, where the connection is not only created on the dancefloor, but in every corner of the place. Where that sense of comfort leads you to let go and be yourself. So why not bring the house party to the kind of venues where you feel like you’re at home?

That’s why Homies first party was a pyjama party at Pikes hotel, where there are countless nooks and crannies where you can enjoy the music, but meet new friends. Just like Camilo did with Luca Averna in 2018 – the third full time homie an avid vinyl collector, Luca distills a sound soaked in ‘90s Ibizan soleil. His love and joy of music shines in every set.

Homies bring the eclectic music that they’d play at home to share with you, whether it’s Pikes Ibiza, Club Malasaña in Madrid, La Terrraza Barcelona, Apolo Milan, Renate or Sisyphos Berlin, or similar very special places that do not follow the normal club rules. Honorary Homies include Dj Alfredo, Leo Mas, Lovefingers, Kalabrese, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Dan Shake, Mor Elian, Curses and Psychemagik, as well as every name on this compilation.

Homies’ Christian Len tells us more: “We’ve been organically building this whole Balearic universe over the last decade, and this compilation is a celebration of all these years of friendship and love for music, crowning it by visiting some of our favourite places — Berlin, London, Barcelona and Madrid — around the summer solstice, before continuing the rest of the season in Ibiza. We’re super happy with the start of what looks set to be the most beautiful Homies summer yet.”

Track List Synopsis

Lovefingers - Fly A Kite starts things off. Attack snares and repeniques set us off on a  7-8-9-10. Manchester keyboards and laid-back dreamy synths create a perfect backdrop for a chilled vocal enshrouding a darker lyric.

Dj Pippi & Willie Graff - Dancing for the Mental Health takes the groove back to a late ‘80s UK soul vibe with nods to, dare I say it, Lisa Stansfield and Enigma.

MLiR feat. Laurence Guy - Ya Ol' Raisin starts with a booming 4/4 bass, Boards of Canada dystopic synths, before exploding into a break beat belter.

Roberto Lodola - Futura's Dream (Es Vedrà Deep Mix) is pure bliss – a laid back sunset masterpiece. Funky chilled mass and a keyboard topline that transcend Ibiza’s history.

Arno E. Mathieu – Lavanda hits a dance tempo, bongos and hi-hats witha copa cabana sensibility. Joyous.

Lova - Stairs into the Azure is dark and mysterious, brooding bongos where a mutitude of synth layers peer at you like a hundred pairs of eyes watching and waiting to take you by surprise.

Rune Lindbæk - Mina Musica, acoustic guitar and delay synth with a strong backbeat, beautifully and cinematically crafted by the Norseman. Named after his favourite dog and written the day Tony Pike died, this is his 2016 update.

Tommiboy Feat DM BAND – Fireball has TR-303s set to Kitt 2000 mode, sexy sax and a Moroder sensibility,

Berko - Island To Island, a firm homies favourite, is catchy bass, hi-hats and an even catchier vocal. Pikes poolside perfection.

Bruz n Balen - Jibaro (Club Version) brings you this Balearic classic version. Deep brooding bass with an agogo topline, matched with acid tweaks, like a Latino Josh Wink.

Avec Fernando - Cock Charmer builds from a deep, funky rhythm section with delay guitars and synths bringing you a slice of island life.

Antonio Prosper -Poderosa Emoción, The Ibiza institution and bassist supreme

the yin to Word Up’s Yang. Bass strong, electric funk permeates. A very strong track from a man who can turn his hand many ways.

Mattia Bison - Ibiza Sunrise sounds like leaving the 4/4 of club at 6am, to witness a beautiful PDB sunrise. Someone hand beats a timbal whilst a plane flies into land overhead whilst  sweet french woman whispers sweet nothings in your ear.

Christian Len - Phase 2 Phase The Porthos of the Homies’ musketeers finishes up the collection with this outrageously outstanding number. The track starts like a heart monitor as you gently breathe. Christian pulls you out of your slumber with big proud Baba O’Reilly chords resuscitating you with joyous beats. A fitting fand resounding finale to a superb collection.
