With a string of successful releases and live performances under his belt, he shows no signs of slowing down. His latest collaboration with fellow producer Bonilla, "Flavor," is a bass-driven, groovy club track that's sure to get people moving. In this exclusive interview, Hotboxx talks about the inspiration behind the track, his collaboration with Bonilla, and what's coming up next for him in the world of Electronic Dance music.

Hi there Hotboxx! How are you doing?

Doing well, thanks for asking!

‘Flavor’ is out now, can you tell us what inspired the production of the track?

This was one of the first collab projects I worked on with Bonilla. We were aiming to make a bass driven underground Tech track but besides that there wasn’t any other particular inspiration.

How did the collaboration between you and Bonilla come about?

We had been talking about collaborating for a while now and finally got a session in. It went really well, we made 2-3 loops and this one we really liked, so we did the lay out and arrangement right away. We didn’t wanna let this project sit as a loop.

What would you say each artist brought to the production of ‘Flavor’?

Tough to say, we worked in sync on this track didn’t require too much solo effort it came together quickly and we both we’re agreeing to most elements we were adding, so it was definitely a 50-50 effort.

Are there any new genre or sonic explorations you’re experimenting with for this song?

Not really, just making a bass filled club track to get people dancing.

What’s your favorite element of the track?

The snares.

How long did it take you to finish the production?

Probably a total of about 4 hours. It didn’t take too long, some of the best projects come together quickly, at least that’s how I feel.

Can you describe ‘Flavor’ using only 3 words?

Groovy, Bass, Club.

What would you like to achieve with this song?

Just make a track that can be played at clubs around the world.

What’s coming up for Hotboxx?

A lot of new releases, every month this year so definitely keep up with that. Also, ‘All the Smoke’ radio show going every week with a ton of new released and unreleased music from myself and a bunch of other amazing artists, as well as upcoming guest mixes by some amazing DJ/producers for the radio show, so definitely tune in for those updates and also keep up with my social media for updates on different upcoming dates where I’ll be playing at some different venues in Miami, Puerto Rico and much more.

With a bass-heavy, club-ready collaboration that's ready to make its rounds on dancefloors worldwide, it's clear that Hotboxx and Bonilla are Producers to watch. We can't wait to see what's in store for the talented artists, as they continue to bring their dynamic sound and style to the forefront of the underground music scene. Keep an eye out for their upcoming releases and catch Hotboxx on his weekly radio show ‘All The Smoke’ for more electrifying beats and fresh takes on the genre. Thank you, Hotboxx, for taking the time to chat with us about the making of 'Flavor.'
