INTERVIEWS: Young Bombs

Riding the crest of a thrilling wave of triumph, dynamic duo Young Bombs return to the release radar with their latest sonic gem, "Let You Down." In the midst of a year filled with resounding achievements, marked by a series of heady releases and an electrifying performance at the iconic EDC Las Vegas, Young Bombs' trajectory knows no bounds. Emanating an aura of sonic prowess, the remarkable production builds on the smash hit single "BAD" released in March featuring Discrete and Alex Hosking, as well as his illustrious April-released remix of Gryffin's hit "Forever." Heralded as masters of their craft, Young Bombs demonstrate an unrivaled ability to captivate audiences around the world, leaving them mesmerized with each harmonious offering. “Let You Down” is now available to stream on all platforms via Sony Music Canada. Steeped in an exhilarating fusion of pop and dance, “Let You Down” is an electrifying anthem that serves as a testament to Young Bombs' unwavering musicianship. Harnessing the creative talents of Rollo, known for his transformative work alongside the likes of David Guetta, Charlie XCX and more, and Deza's dynamic force, the heady production envelops listeners in a kaleidoscope of thumping rhythms. Graced by Deza's enchanting vocals, the track transports audiences to a realm of unparalleled musical euphoria. The uplifting melody seamlessly intertwined with an irresistible beat, setting the stage for a deeply empowering narrative that gracefully unfolds throughout the track. Infused with an energetic tempo and imbued with uplifting production, listeners are effortlessly persuaded to let go and throw themselves into this magnetic work, freeing their spirits and igniting a palpable spark deep within.

We have had the pleasure of interviewing them and this has been the result.

How would you present your work to someone who doesn't know you?

Through a speaker because we make music

And your most recent release “Let You Down”? Where is it born from? And where do you want to lead?

Born from my brain and it shall lead to people’s ears.

What message would you like to convey to the public?

Music unites people.

How did your last project come about?

It was a studio session in LA with Deza and Rollo, and we wrote ‘Let You Down’.

What do you want to transmit in this work? What is the concept behind it?

We’d like people to feel uplifted and to dance like NOBODY’S watching.

As for your studio, what is it currently made up of?

We use KRK and Adam speakers, MacBook pros, and we work out of Logic Pro

What is the one instrument you would never get rid of, no matter what?

My first guitar

What was the last record store you visited? And what did you salvage from there?

Neptoon Records in Vancouver and bought The Cranberries second album.

Do you have hope for the future of music? How would you like the future of the music industry to be?

We hope smaller artists get more visibility on DSPs because it’s very hard to compete with The Weekend and the latest TikTok smash. There’s a lot of great music out there and people want to discover it.

Can you reveal some future projects?

I’m fashioning a dining table out of reclaimed wood. I just finished the second stain last night and it’s looking quite rustic.

What makes you happy?

The Twilight Saga
