Kevin de Vries & Juan Elvadin combine for stirring 'Obsidian' EP on Drumcode

Kevin de Vries links with South American rising star Juan Elvadin for their stunning first collaboration ‘Obsidian’.

The EP marks de Vries first release on Drumcode since his standout ‘Mind Control’ produced with Chris Avantgarde, which was a highlight of 2022. Meanwhile, Elvadin steps up for his DC debut, with the added achievement of being the first Argentine ever to release an EP on Adam Beyer’s storied label.

The EP is the result of a long-standing musical exchange between the two artists, which begun in 2019 during de Vries’ first tour of Argentina. Elvadin opened for the German artist at each of his shows, ending the tour with a B2B. They’ve enjoyed a close kinship since.

Their ‘Obsidian’ collaboration came to life after Elvadin sent an initial idea to de Vries, planting the seeds for something special. The final work is shimmering beauty crafted for celestial 4ammoments. No surprise it went down a treat during Drumcode’s 30th anniversary event in Mallorca when Beyer dropped it in May, while also being a highlight of the DC event at Crobar.

‘Feel Me’ is the perfect companion. It’s punchy, squelchy and borderline-psychedelic, without ever losing its individual character. A rolling jam of elite proportions.
