Awe inspiring is the experience that Mogambo, a collaborative creation of Sunju Hargun and multi-instrumentalist Jerom Doudet. Both set in Thailand and bounded by a shared love for acidic electronics, Bollywood movies, and great psychedelic gongs. Now they make their debut with the EP: “Cobra” (Siamese Twins Records). Although Mogambo has gone through various stages in his creative process, encompassing a multitude of genres, in "Cobra" he manages to display an evolved, refined and enhanced sound, which consolidates the careers of two producers who do not cease to have notable virtues, presenting nuances so unique and fresh, that manage to shape unique pieces, as pleasant in a club as at home.
The EP delves into a unique and very personal sonic cosmos, this album covers a wide range of sonic textures. Featuring trippy jungle beats, riveting tribal percussion, countless eccentric stompboxes and '90s Goa tracks. The EP, recorded and mixed in the city of Bangkok and the islands of Koh Chang. It ranges from space Asian soundscapes, sweaty basements after hours of travel to mesmerizing beats that smolder and glide like a Cobra.
All these themes come together, until they combine an album as experimental as intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like a sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do, condensing two ideas that seemed that we were no longer going to recover: future and permanence.
