R. Missing and J-Walk will release a new single called "Top Star de France". Lines like, "There are parts of Le Cannet where you can walk on the face of Top Star de France" isolation from the telescope, boredom, and slight disappointment under a 1960s retro screen.
Since his 2017 debut EP “Unsummering”, released on the Bordeaux-based Talitres label (Motorama, The National, Emily Jane White), R. Missing has featured numerous singles and EPs, including remixes and collaborations with international artists such as the Croatian Love, GusGus, Sally Shapiro, El Campo and La KVB.
J-Walk (Martin "Brew" Fisher) is a Manchester institution known for the classic album "A Night On The Rocks." Fisher's tracks traditionally feature cinematic atmospheres and lo-fi vibes with a 1960s psychedelic twist. British New Wave elements also feature frequently.
R.Missing's sound has a common characteristic recognized by recurring themes, such as nostalgia, melody and cosmic depth, which draws you in, but without losing energy. And this «Top Star de France» is a good example of it.
We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that this album is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. Thanks to records like this, we can continue fighting for a better future.
