REVIEW: Mikel Gil returns with a new job: Love And War

Mikel Gil returns with a new job: Love And War. The DJ and producer from Vitoria delights us with a new EP of three techno-style originals. Seriousness and a good work of synthesis, with spooky grooves and one-shot voices, is what you'll find in this new work entitled Love and War, which was released on October 21 through his own label, Lonely Owl Records.

After releasing his songs on labels such as AIMT, Renesanz, Dolma, Analytic Trail or Tutu, among others, Mikel Gil returns home to give us three cuts in which he enjoys doing what he does best: techno. The idea behind this album refers us to one of the crucial attributes of music, and that is its inexhaustible ability to generate states of mind that protect us at all times. Its meaning remains in the hands of lovers of electronic music, beyond the dance floor and all hedonism.

Love And War can and should be heard as a piece of timeless music, which conveys a positive idea in times of conflict, and its aesthetic appeals to the most basic, deep and receptive of the spirit. Mikel Gil, in short, designs a wide and fragile sound to listen and feel from the depths.
