Rob Macleod - Pàrtaig [In The Event Of Capture]

Actualizado: 18 mar 2021

Rob Macleod is back, and he does it with Pàrtaig, published in In The Event Of Capture. Designed to be a perfect listening experience, the experimental journey is infused with out of place rhythms, conflicting sounds, and easy breaks.

Pàrtaig is an overwhelming narrative. Through solid arrangements and solid programming, this EP becomes a vehicle for reverential music that manages to spill out enough of the artist's own ideas to shake off the high era, allowing it to exist in its own right as credible.

Through solid arrangements and solid programming, this EP becomes a vehicle for reverential music that manages to spill out enough of the artist's own ideas to shake off the high era, allowing it to exist in its own right as credible. Macleod manages to distill it admirably into an EP that turns out to be an attentive listener from start to finish. Plus, his percussion made from household goods, this electro progressive track finishes as loud as this EP demands.

Altogether, this EP is as experimental as it is intense and addictive, it takes over oneself like a sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this EP is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For records like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.
