On Signal_, Mexican producer Soulstize continues the trajectory established by Ritual Layer and After The Coma, refining a vision of techno that feels increasingly introspective without sacrificing physical impact. Released via WRD Records and mastered by Paul Render, the seven-track collection is built entirely from analog hardware, yet its fascination lies not in nostalgia or technical exhibitionism. Instead, it explores the subtle dialogue between human intention and machine unpredictability.
The record unfolds with remarkable patience. Sequences repeat, mutate and gradually evolve, allowing tension to accumulate naturally rather than relying on abrupt drops or obvious climaxes. Soulstize understands that hypnosis in techno is not created through complexity but through persistence. Each rhythmic cycle reveals tiny deviations, imperfections and textural shifts that become increasingly significant as the tracks progress.
