Sisko Electrofanatik celebrates two decades of techno mastery with debut album 'Starboy'

Rome-based techno stalwart Sisko Electrofanatik marks his 20-year milestone with a powerful artistic statement: Starboy, his long-awaited debut album, out now via his own Gain Records imprint. Known for his no-compromise approach to peak-time techno, Sisko here stretches beyond his club-oriented legacy to offer a 15-track voyage through the more nuanced edges of his sonic world.

Opening with the title track, “Starboy” sets the tone in dystopian style: eerie pads and corrosive acid lines that hint at a cinematic narrative. This is not just a techno album—it’s a layered experience. From the menacing surge of “Ziggurath” to the dark pulse of “Ad Astra,” Sisko constructs a sonic architecture that’s both thunderous and thoughtfully composed.

Sisko’s reputation precedes him—cutting his teeth on Carl Cox’s Intec label and later releasing on titanic platforms like Terminal M and We Are The Brave. That pedigree shines through on Starboy, but what surprises is his capacity for reinvention. “Get Lost,” featuring Roman vocalist Lory, adds a vulnerable melodic techno twist, while “Acidland” plunges into introspective downtempo territory, filled with acidic textures and haunting ambiance.

The album hits hard when it needs to, as on the raw percussive energy of “Supernatural,” but it also knows when to pause and reflect—like in the atmospheric breakdown of “Elements” featuring Leah Rose, or the hypnotic flow that closes the journey on “Alter Ego,” a Carl Cox-supported standout.

In Starboy, Sisko Electrofanatik doesn’t just deliver an album—he constructs a time capsule of his career, mapping 20 years of evolution, innovation, and devotion to the art of techno.
