Today [22 September 2023] Johannesburg DJ/producer, Vanco, shares the powerful, deeply moving Afrotech track, “Kitchen”. An epic 7-minute-long journey that blends afro-tech, deep house and atmospheric trance melodies with Ibiza-esque big room vibes, “Kitchen” is the perfect DJ tool for long, melodic sets.
“Kitchen” comes following “HOYA”, Vanco’s recent collaboration with Tunde, supported by Kaltblut, 15 Questions and more. A track that tells a story of travelling across the world, Vanco created the track based on an epic and inspiring night in Ibiza, where he made a stop en route to the blissful shores of Bali.
The journey starts at Hi Ibiza, where he joins Jamezi and The Martinez Brothers - masters of the Balearic dance floors. What started as a planned 30-minute pit-top at Hi Ibiza transformed into a night that defied the hands of time, fuelled by the raw energy of the crowd and the inimitable, magical vibe of the White Isle.
In the bewitching early hours of the morning, Vanco retreats to the sanctuary of his hotel room. Little did he know that in just 25 minutes, "Kitchen" would come to life, as he mused on the musical kitchen where he becomes a sonic chef. Vanco adds, ““Kitchen" isn't just a track; it's an auditory feast. Imagine a symphony of sounds that evoke the clinking of kitchen utensils, a powerful bassline that resonates like a heartbeat, and a fusion of low ends and luscious synths that leave you utterly captivated. It's a decadent dish, a tantalising blend of flavours that transport you to a realm where music transcends mere notes.”
Hailing from Douglasdale, Johannesburg, South African DJ/Producer Vanco has long been cementing his name as an afro-tech pioneer, blending electronic and diasporic club sounds. Blending big-room afro-techno and melodic house and techno, with sounds of the African diaspora, Vanco has graced DJ booth in iconic venues across the world, Ministry Of Sound, London, Ultra Music Festival, Johannesburg, Blue Marlin, Ibiza, and beyond. Following his previous singles “XELE” and “Desire” with Eva Simons, Breathe EP, Motherland EP, Reflections EP and as well as a recent, huge remix ‘Bailar Contigo’ for Black Eyed Peas and Daddy Yankee, "HOYA" and "Kitchen" offer just a taste of what’s to come from Vanco, with an anticipated forthcoming project due for release later this summer.
