T H I S B E Recordings presents Hypnotic by Pyrame and Semodi

ree

“Hypnotic,” the new collaborative EP by Berlin-based artists Pyrame and Semodi on THISBE Recordings, is a striking exploration of consciousness through the language of tech house and minimalism. Built around two originals crafted with meticulous studio synergy, the release merges modular precision with poetic introspection, resulting in a record that feels both cerebral and deeply sensual.

The title track, Hypnotic, unfolds with slow-burning tension, guided by a velvety pulse and subtle rhythmic reduction. What elevates the piece beyond stylistic convention is the contribution of vocalist Maïlys, who interprets Pyrame’s narrative on imagination, perception, and the hidden expanses of the human mind. Her spoken-word delivery, at once intimate and otherworldly, becomes the gravitational force around which the groove floats. The track seems to exist in a mist between the club floor and the inner voice.

The companion piece Mais Qui Es-Tu? travels similar terrain with a more immediate swing, drawing from minimal house elasticity and crisp percussion. Here the melodic fragments and whispered phrases highlight the EP’s central theme: the blurred lines between identity, fantasy, and self-projection.

The remix lineup widens the narrative without fragmenting it. No Hopes injects melodic techno luminosity into Mais Qui Es-Tu?, transforming it into a late-night weapon with a broader festival reach. Orchid’s Goa Mix pushes the same track into cosmic territory, amplifying psychedelic textures and upping the trance-infused momentum. Meanwhile, Bruno Otranto’s remix of “Hypnotic” warms the atmosphere with deeper house DNA—groovier, more sensual, and anchored in rhythm rather than introspection.

Released both digitally and as a limited-edition vinyl, “Hypnotic” stands as a cohesive artistic statement. It’s an EP that invites repeated listening—first for the groove, then for the words, and eventually for the fascinating interplay between both.
