Electronic artist Vexillary is taking the concept album into uncharted territory with the launch of Digital Suspiria: The Game, an ambitious interactive experience that transforms the world of her latest album into a playable cybernetic universe. Developed by interactive studio con:trace and produced and directed by Reza Seirafi, the project will be released online on June 26, 2026, with full mobile compatibility.
Originally released on March 20, 2026 via con-trace, Digital Suspiria introduced listeners to a futuristic landscape shaped by synthetic atmospheres, digital mythology, and cybernetic aesthetics. Rather than treating the album as a standalone listening experience, Vexillary and the development team have expanded its universe into what they describe as an immersive “hyperverse,” where music, simulation, and gameplay converge.
Instead of following a conventional storyline, Digital Suspiria: The Game unfolds across three interconnected experiences that reinterpret the album’s themes through different styles of play. Together, they create a dynamic system in which sound becomes movement and players become active participants within the record’s world.
The first chapter, Digital Suspiria Melee, draws inspiration from classic cyberpunk visions such as Tron and Ghost in the Shell. Players navigate a neon-lit digital environment, engaging in fast-paced hack-and-slash combat against waves of humanoid synth enemies while exploring a sprawling cybernetic landscape.
The second mode, Actor Bahn Racer, shifts into high-speed arcade action. Inspired by the visual spectacle and velocity of 1980s racing games, players pilot a starship through futuristic race circuits filled with energy boosts, hazardous barriers, and hostile synth attackers.
Completing the trilogy is Digital Kill Shot, a visually striking third-person shooter that transforms the album’s iconic cover figure into a powerful cybernetic weapon system equipped with a scorpion-like cannon. As enemies evolve into their final forms, players face the most intense and cinematic chapter of the experience.
With its fusion of electronic music, interactive design, and science-fiction aesthetics, Digital Suspiria: The Gamerepresents a rare experiment within contemporary electronic music culture. More than a promotional companion piece, it stands as an extension of the album itself—an interactive ritual that invites audiences not simply to listen, but to inhabit the world of Digital Suspiria.
