Vicky Montefusco Joins Deep Dish’s Global Underground Legacy with “Licking”

The long-awaited trilogy is finally complete. Legendary duo Deep Dish have returned to the iconic Global Underground series with GU49: Dublin, following their celebrated editions Moscow and Toronto. More than two decades after helping define the sound of progressive house for a generation, Deep Dish once again demonstrate why they remain one of electronic music’s most respected acts.
Described in the official press release as “a masterclass in mixing,” Global Underground #49: Dublin is far more than a DJ compilation. It is a carefully crafted musical journey that blends contemporary underground sounds with the timeless storytelling approach that has made Deep Dish such influential figures within global club culture. Across two expertly mixed CDs and a specially curated vinyl edition, the duo showcase an impressive selection of artists from across the electronic music spectrum.
The compilation moves effortlessly through melodic house, progressive grooves and deep, hypnotic rhythms, featuring standout contributions from artists including Enamour, Guy J, Franky Wah, Ezequiel Arias, Culoe De Song, Pete Tong, Monolink, Moderat, Dubfire & Miss Kittin, among many others. The track selection reflects Deep Dish’s ability to connect established names with emerging talent, creating a cohesive listening experience that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Highlights include Deep Dish’s own “Fire (Deep Mix),” the Deep Dish edit of Moderat’s “Eating Hooks,” Guy J’s emotional “Alive Again,” and the powerful Tripolism remix of “Apocalypse” by Pete Tong, MoBlack and Max Zotti featuring Monolink. Throughout the compilation, every track plays a role in building the atmosphere and narrative that have always been central to the Global Underground concept.
