Weska returns to Truesoul for stunning collaborative release featuring SOLANCE, Sarah De Warren & MORGANJ

Weska keeps ascending. The Canadian producer has come into his own in recent years. Once a yearly fixture on Drumcode via his highly anticipated collaborations with Bart Skils, the versatile artist is now making his mark on Truesoul. Releasing two strong EP’s in as many years – ‘Mudcat’ in 2024, followed by ‘Helix’ last year – he’s now extending his repertoire by dropping a pair of buzzy collaborative tracks that further reinforce his deft skill as a producer.
‘Overdrive’ kicks off proceedings, a link up with rising producer SOLANCE and talented vocalist Sarah De Warren, with both artists first appearing on Adam Beyer’s labels via collaborations with KASIA (check out ‘Inferno’ and ‘Psycho’ for the goods). It delivers via a memorable melodic lead as swirls of elastics synths ping back and forth, while De Warren’s vocal takes it to another level.
“I had a session planned with SOLANCE the day before a show in Amsterdam. We were playing each other things we’d been working on - I was showing him an idea I had started with Sarah - and we noticed both our tracks were in the same key. We brought the main ideas together in a few hours, and I ended up testing it at the show the next day. It worked great and we knew we had something sick on our hands.” – Weska
‘No Escape’ sees Weska team-up with rising Italian producer MORGANJ for an inspired cut that blends influences including electro house, bass, prog, trance, breaks and beyond. A proper head-turner that’s full of surprises.
“I’ve been a fan of Morgan’s stuff for a while, so I was excited when he sent over an early draft. I loved it as soon as I heard the acid bassline, and the rest of the track came together rather quickly. I’m really stoked on how the whole EP came together, and I'm pumped it’s coming out on Truesoul. This EP is a reminder of how music brings people together, no matter where you are in the world.” – Weska
“Weska and I have been supporting each other for a long time, always appreciating what we do individually. A few months ago, we decided to make something together without overthinking genres or boundaries. With the vocal saying “All pressure, you look around, all pressure,” we wanted to turn that feeling into something positive: a club track with no rules, no limitations, and no pressure to fit into any particular sound. That’s how 'No Escape' was born, a track that represents exactly what we wanted to make, with no compromises.” – MORGANJ
