When The Sunlight Comes Finds Andy Ash in Deep, Dreamy Form

Brandon Pinel has largely used his Departure Lounge label as an outlet for his own work as Ode to 97, though in recent times he's started showcasing the work of likeminded producers from elsewhere. That's the case here, as he offers up a typically well-crafted and ear pleasing collection of cuts from talented Liverpudlian Andy Ash.

'When The Sunlight Comes' is classic Ash, with layers of ear-pleasing melodic motifs, sun-bright electronics and bubbly acid lines wrapping round a huggable, wide-eyed house groove. 'Sunrise Acid' lives up to its name, with Ash delivering yearning, dew-soaked dancefloor brilliance that Flabaire later re-casts as a dreamy chunk of acid-flecked electro excellence. Elsewhere, 'Deep Edge' is a Hammond-laden mid-tempo shuffler and '3 Feet East' is the EP's most propulsive and peak-time ready workout.
