Adam Beyer & Mark Reeve revisit rolling dancefloor roots on four-track ‘Do Our Thing’ EP
Following a standout collaboration earlier in the year, Adam Beyer re-links with long-time Drumcode family member Mark Reeve for ‘Do Our Thing’ – a hefty four-track EP that goes back to Drumcode’s rolling dancefloor roots, as the label celebrates 30 years in 2026.
Mark Reeve has been part of the Drumcode story since 2012 when he debuted with the slick percussive cut, ‘Drumatic’. While the sounds may have changed, his strong musical kinship with Adam Beyer hasn’t.
First collaborating in 2016 to craft the now-classic ‘Nine of You’, they re-kindled their studio project earlier this year for the standout ‘Love Within’, which became the unofficial anthem of Drumcode Mallorca.
Another collaboration was soon on the cards, inspired by the idea of bringing some old skool energy back into the music, while giving it their own fresh twist.“The title – ‘Do Our Thing’ – really sums up the idea behind this EP. Just two friends making the music they love and doing what feels right,”Reeve shares.
‘Synchronize’kicks things off, a slick dancefloor tool that still packs plenty of peak-time punch, as a wicked guitar riff builds energy throughout the second stanza.‘Frames’charts eye-rolling4amterritory as silky melodic layers rub shoulders with full-bodied percussion. The EP’s title track‘Do Our Thing’is an exhilarating musical statement marked by a rapped vocal line and pin-sharp drums, before a dynamic second half throws up plenty of surprises.‘Santiago’is a characterful gem, equal parts soaring and punchy, it’s made for epic closing moments.
Reeve continues:“When I look back at our journey, what makes it so special is that it's always been about much more than just music. After all these years, Adam and I still share the same passion, the same musical taste, and the same excitement about creating something together.”
