Join us in this captivating interview with Ana Pac, where she dives into the essence of her debut album "Manifest," shedding light on the power of belief and the vibrancy of her musical influences. From the liberating anthem "Freedom" to the intimate vibes of "3AM Paradise," Pac discusses her journey towards self-acceptance, the joy of creative collaborations, and her vision for empowering listeners through her music.
Q1: "Manifest" is a powerful title for your debut album. Can you share the inspiration behind this name and how it reflects the themes of the album?
The 1st step to Manifesting is believing. Believing that the universe has your back, believing that if you can see it, you can achieve it. The biggest part comes from within, believing in yourself. I have always wanted to show the world that what you are searching for is out there waiting for you, but it starts with you and within you!
Q2: Your music has been described as a mix of Dua Lipa and Sigala with uplifting lyrics inspired by Lizzo. How do you blend these influences while creating your unique sound?
All three of these artists are huge powerhouses in their own respective field. They have so much in them to be inspired by. It’s about having a connection to certain vibes that resonate with your own concept, your own story, your own idea. It makes it such that your uniqueness is projected. It’s all about the vibes! The possibilities are endless!
Q3: "Freedom" is the first single from the LP. What message do you hope to convey through this song, and why was it chosen as the first release?
Freedom is about taking charge of your life and saying “This is me; this is who I want to be” no matter what others want you to be. Finding your true authentic self can be a journey. You have the freedom to explore and grow.
Q4:You've spoken about avoiding the cycle of stress and exhaustion in adult life. How does this album, particularly songs like "3AM Paradise," reflect your journey towards a more joyful and stress-free life?
3AM Paradise is one of my flirtier songs. It’s about allowing yourself to experience the unknown of a new relationship. The thrill of talking to someone you’re crushing on, for hours on end, way into the late hours of the night. Let yourself hop on the rollercoaster of a ride that is those crazy feelings you get at 3AM.
Q5: As a vocal member of the LGBTQ+ community, how do you feel your identity and experiences influence your song writing and the messages in your music?
In my experiences, I have found that the more I embrace my true self, the happier I felt, the more real I felt, the more connections I was able to make the more fulfilled I became. As a songwriter I want to inspire people to celebrate the freedom of identity and individuality. To break free from social norms.
Q6: "Bite The Rainbow" comes in three different versions on the album. Can you discuss the creative process behind creating multiple remixes of the same track?
It’s always interesting to collaborate with minds that hear different ideas based on one track. Working with DJs allows for the creation of a new vibe, a new sound, more room to play and gives space to have a separate feel from the original. The remixes awaken other senses and bring, not only the listener, but to me as well, a fresh experience. And how cool is that to see your song interpreted in so many ways!
Q7:Can you share a bit about the significance of the track “Sun-Kissed”?
Sun-Kissed is a feel-good summer song. It’s a cheeky/ flirty song about enjoying the summertime vacation vibes, some down time and wanting that summer fling kiss. ;)
Q8: You’ve acknowledged special people in your journey, like Wendy, Artem, Corinna and Veronica. How have these collaborations shaped the creation of “Manifest"?
My team is amazing! Each and every one of them plays a huge role in the making of “Manifest”. Veronica is such a supportive team leader. The motivation and direction she brings to the team is essential. Wendy is the attention to detail queen. Being my vocal coach as well as my vocal engineer you can be assured that she is making sure everything is sounding perfect and on point. Artem is my amazing producer, the genius behind the tracks. He takes my musical visions and ideas and gives them life. Corinna is one of my co-writers, her ability to tell a story through lyrics is undeniable. Each member of this team brings something special to “Manifest” and I am very thankful for them.
Q9: With over 1.7 million TikTok likes, how do you think platforms like TikTok have influenced your music career and the reception of your work?
TikTok is an amazing platform. They provide that ability to connect with fans in a personal way. Not only do they get to have access to my art, but there is also the opportunity for them to share with me. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities, collaborations, ideas etc. I think humans are looking for realness and TikTok provides a space where it’s accessible to be real. I think that brings us all a lot closer together.
Q10: Your album seems to embody a message of positivity and empowerment. How do you hope your listeners will feel after experiencing “Manifest"?
My hopes are that they believe they can take on the world with good vibes and the courage to be their authentic self. I want people to wake up in the morning and play any song from “Manifest” and feel motivated to chase their dreams and experience the beauty this world has to offer. Start the day off empowered!
Q11: The album includes a mix of uplifting pop and flirty, love-themed tracks. How do you balance these different themes and moods in your song writing process?
I feel that seeing multiple sides of an artist is important. As much as I want to remind my fans that positivity and good vibes are out there, it’s also nice to include them in some more personal experiences through music, such as love. One of my favourite tracks on “Manifest” is about my wife to be Jo. The song writing process is cathartic, it’s a way of letting my emotions and feelings be free.
Q12: Finally, what does the future hold for Ana Pac? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that your fans can look forward to?
