Hey, where can we find you right now? How did you start your day?

I've just taken my kids to school and about to meet my wife for a quick coffee before we launch into our respective days… Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? I was born and raised in the working class, western suburbs of Melbourne/Australia to Macedonian, immigrant parents. I was drawn to all types of music from a very early age and truly swept away by "grunge" music of the early to mid 90's. An entry level, Sammick guitar entered the house when I was aged 17 years as my younger brother started guitar lessons. I'm self-taught. Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in 'life')? And how have they affected your sound? Earlier influences from my formative musical years would be Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Public Enemy Tori Amos Metallica, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Meshugaah, The Bulgarian Female Choir, NIN, Radiohead, Bjork, DD Synthesis, Swans, Helmet, The Mark Of Cain, Sufjan Stevens, Bjork, The Clouds, Shellac... I'm currently listening to Shannon Wright, Mitski, Tropical Fuck Storm, Broads and Douglas Dare a lot... More generally, my immediate family of 3 kids and wife are influencing/impacting (ha!) me daily. Psychoanalysis has also been a significant influence in how I see and relate to the world as I work as a psychotherapist. How would you define the sound of your band?

I like to think we have a distinctive sound and this is reflected in many of the comments people make that range from: "I can't pick the influence", "it's so different", "I need a few more listens to fully understand it". I liked the most recent description I heard: "it sounds like an indie Simon and Garfunkel." I'll let your readers decide

How would you define your work? What is the concept and story behind your latest album?

The songs on the EP don't have a (conscious) overarching concept. They represent my response to to my world at the time of writing them that include grappling with personal conflicts regarding facing fear (But, when?), keeping my shit together as an adult male (Divisible by Trouble) Australian and world/American politics (Buyer's Regret and Orange Haze), family life (The Now is Nigh) and living more consciously and deliberately in one's life (Numb Spectator) What can you tell us about how your latest release came about?

I started writing songs for the EP in Feb 2015. My 3rd child was due to be born in June of that year and I developed an existential crisis about losing myself in parenthood and not having enough time to devote to my own interests/passions. Therefore, I carved out 3 hours every Monday afternoon to write songs. In 2017 I Had about 25 songs completed on acoustic guitar and spoke with a few friends about releasing an EP. 6 songs were chosen, and further developed with drums and bass, culminating in Numb Spectator Finally, what are you looking to achieve with this outing?

To surpass AC/DC at the top of rock n roll! I'll take writing good songs, sharing them with others and playing some shows as a consolation. What other projects are you working on at the moment?

My children's trampoline; continue growing my beard; shrinking my gut and; healing my torn hamstring from a social foot-race I participated in on the weekend at my birthday party Do you have any final words of wisdom?

¿Podéis contarnos un poco sobre vuestra experiencia? ¿De dónde sois / cómo os metisteis en la música?

Nací y crecí en una familia de clase trabajadora, los suburbios occidentales de Melbourne / Australia de padres inmigrantes macedonios. Me atrajo todo tipo de música desde una edad muy temprana y realmente me dejé llevar por la música "grunge" de principios y mediados de los 90. La guitarra Sammick entró en mi casa cuando tenía 17 años cuando mi hermano menor comenzó a formarse musicalmente. Soy autodidacta.

De forma más general, mi familia inmediata de 3 hijos y mi esposa me influyen e impactan (¡ja!) A diario. El psicoanálisis también ha tenido una influencia significativa en cómo veo y me relaciono con el mundo mientras trabajo como psicoterapeuta.

¿Cómo definirías vuestro sonido?

Me gusta pensar que tenemos un sonido distintivo y esto se refleja en muchos de los comentarios que la gente hace que van desde: "No puedo elegir la influencia", "es tan diferente", "Necesito algunas escuchas más para entender completamente eso". Me gustó la descripción más reciente que escuché: "suena como un Simon and Garfunkel indie".

¿Cómo definirías vuestro trabajo? ¿Cuál es el concepto y la historia detrás de vuestro último álbum?

Las canciones del EP no tienen un concepto general (consciente). Representan mi respuesta a mi mundo al momento de escribirlos que incluyen lidiar con conflictos personales relacionados con enfrentar el miedo (pero, ¿cuándo?), Mantener mis cosas juntas como un hombre adulto (Divisible por problemas) Política australiana y mundial / estadounidense ( Buyer's Regret y Orange Haze), la vida familiar (The Now is Nigh) y vivir más consciente y deliberadamente en la propia vida (Numb Spectator).

¿Qué nos podéis contar sobre cómo surgió este último lanzamiento?

Empecé a escribir canciones para el EP en febrero de 2015. Mi tercer hijo iba a nacer en junio de ese año y desarrollé una crisis existencial por perderme en la paternidad y no tener suficiente tiempo para dedicarme a mis propios intereses / pasiones. Por lo tanto, dividí nuestras 3 horas todos los lunes por la tarde para escribir canciones.

En 2017, terminé unas 25 canciones con guitarra acústica y hablé con algunos amigos sobre el lanzamiento de un EP. Se eligieron 6 canciones y se desarrollaron aún más con batería y bajo, que culminaron en Numb Spectator

¿En qué otros proyectos estáis trabajando en este momento?

El trampolín de mis hijos; dejar crecer mi barba; adelgazar y; sanando mi tendón de la corva desgarrado de una carrera social en la que participé el fin de semana en mi fiesta de cumpleaños.
