Joe Ventura begins his independent work. This uniquely inspired musician, who has made a name for himself through a handful of tasty songs.
His music is unclassifiable, but it has no rival. Close your eyes and let the sensations flow.
Can you tell us a little bit about your background? Where are you from / how did you get into music?
Originally from Connecticut, USA. Now reside in Florida. My love for music started at the age of 5. I found an old school record player. It was one that was an all-in-one type. Turntable and speakers. But it had no needle. I carried that thing 2 miles and it was heavy as hell. I stuck a sowing needle in and let it rip (literally) on records we had around the house. I went through the genres like would be DJ/Artists do. Soul, Rock, Southern Rock, Hip Hop, Heavy Metal, Freestyle, Techno to ultimately finding House. I feel that the underground scene will continue to persist.
Do you think we can go back to ‘normal’ events and festivals?
I think everything will go back to "normal". I'm an optimist at heart and believe that anything can be the way you want it to be as long as you're willing to put the effort in and not just settle. My motto in life is; Successful people are the ones that do the things unsuccessful people refuse to do.
How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres are you enjoying mixing right now?
My sound is always evolving because of the eager willingness to learn. If nothing is changing, it's time to change something. I'm dialled into Tom Junior, Kenny Summit, Buried King, Bonetti, Angelo Ferreri.
How do you feel your music influences or impacts your listeners?
I hope it throws them back to the 90's with a modern twist. At the end of the day it has ALWAYS been about the music and NEVER about the money. As long as the focus is the music, the sound will always be true. DJ's and Producers have to be themselves in order to have their own sound. Period.
What projects are you working on at the moment?
We have a lot in the pipeline. A release every week for the next 4 months. Most originals with a few remixes peppered in. As with everything we do, can't divulge details, It's a surprise!!!
What pisses you off?
Things that piss me off include charts charting artists/producer/remixers on their name and not the quality of music. This includes some of my idols. It's sad and a dis-service to new artists and quality tracks that get excluded because of known entity garbage.
What makes you happy?
Seeing new artists thrive and get proper respect.
Do you have any final words of wisdom?
Be yourself because no one else can be you
