Today on Chromatic we had the pleasure of speaking with Rome in Reverse, an Italian artist currently working on her music in Denmark.
Can you tell us a little about your experience so far in the music business?
Well, i don't know if i can answer you in terms of business, but i can tell you that all my experiences started when Rome in reverse borned. I am a self-taught producer, over the years I had the pleasure to be followed by a well known artist in the field of electronic music who has taught me a lot. Thanks to him I learned how to be on stage, how to produce, but above all, how an artist must respect his music. That's what I can say from my experience. Where are you from? and do you feel that has a big impact on your sound? Being an empathic person i can tell you that everything around me has a strong impact on my artistic life, and consequently on my sound. I am Italian based in the beautiful Denmark, in Copenhagen.
What artists and genres do you enjoy most right now?
I Love to listen to different genres of music, but of course my taste prevails on electronic music.
I love discover new artists, new talents, and so new impulses. Artists that i follow at moment are : Haring & Lake Turner.
Was your new record a big endevour? or did it come together easily?
'LUX'is an immense satisfaction to me. it didn't come easily. I was focused on finding the perfect sound.
What, sometimes it takes weeks, months, years. But the idea of how I wanted LUX, yes, that was clear to me.
Has that sound changed a lot in recent years?
Yes and no. I mean, I am always careful to don't go outside the concept of what represents ROME IN REVERSE but i like to vary and not be ripetitive on my albums, EP or singles. Everything I produce is personal, it's describing a moment and all the moments are different.
Do you feel safe now to have a more experimental sound?
I don't think about it, music doesn't have to be a business plan.
We all know that the digital revolution has affected sales, but has it affected creativity?
No, creativity is a precious artist's asset , I do not think it's the digital that put it at risk.
Can you tell us whats next for you? The next step is to support LUX and make it go as far as possible, then, schedule my next unreleased works.
